Currently, we are looking for a Manager, Fleet Services Training to join the ABF Freight team. The Manager, Fleet Services Training develops and deploys both Technical and soft skills training to the entire field group from technicians up through Regional Maintenance Managers. This position conducts on-site training sessions at all ABF Shop locations as well as routinely in Fort Smith, and provides remote training and troubleshooting for our all ABF Technicians across the system. This position also assures that the Fleet Services Team has technical, Leadership, and general skills training required to perform at the highest level of safety, cost efficiency, and regulatory and process compliance to provide optimum experience for internal customers while assuring highest return on asset investments.

Your contribution may include:

  • Travel periodically to deliver on-site skills training at ABF and Vendor LHS locations.
  • Hold periodic training sessions at designated central training facility for tractor diagnostic training, update to chassis and training systems, and Corporate and regulatory compliance training.
  • Assist with delivery of appropriate leadership, management, and regulatory training through collaboration with ArcBest Training.
  • Provide technician remote assistance with O.E. and component diagnostic, troubleshooting software, and individual event assistance as needed.
  • Host remote Teams meetings for equipment and process updates.
  • Provide Shop management remote assistance with Fleet Services applications and processes.
  • Collaborate and interface with ArcBest training to develop curriculum and outlines for training sessions and programs.
  • Coordinate schedules and personnel assignments for training sessions.
  • Assist and fill-In for Shop leadership as Needed
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.

As the Manager, Fleet Services Training, you will be a member of the ABF Freight Fleet Services team. Work schedule will generally fall between 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with occasional irregular hours depending on workload. Ready to apply? Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferred.

Experience: Prior experience in managing projects and training. Proven skills in collaborating across multiple departments.

Computer Skills: Foundational knowledge of computer operation, email, intranet, and internet applications as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Other Requirements: ABF Field knowledge. Knowledge of equipment and maintenance in trucking operations is preferred.
