Currently, we are looking for a Student Worker, ABF Payroll to join the ABF team. As a member, you will assist hourly and salary payroll and health welfare and pension areas in the daily activities required to timely process the compensation for contractual and non-contractual employees and benefit contributions for various ABF Corporations.

Your contribution may include:

  • Accurately index City and Utility Driving logs, income tax withholding forms and direct deposit authorizations.
  • Organize and distribute mail and faxes in a timely manner including outgoing items.
  • Prepare packaging for hourly and salary payroll checks, verifying the accuracy of shipping methods including changes for holidays and terminal address changes.
  • Responsible for enclosing additional items in the payroll shipment to service centers including items from other departments that are needed by the Service Center.
  • Maintain spreadsheets of payroll specialist work assignments accurately.
  • Prepare labels for yearly folders for various Health, Welfare and Pension Funds.
  • Prepare items for storage to be sent to the warehouse including hourly timecards and other payroll data.
  • Maintain records of Transfer Storage Request.
  • Prepare and analyze spreadsheets of data as need.
  • File and make copies as needed.
  • Shred confidential documents.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in a highly intense environment.
  • Work in a team setting to accomplish department goals.
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.

As a Student Worker, Payroll, you will be a member of the ABF Payroll team in Fort Smith, AR. This is a part time position that will average fewer than 30 hours per week. Work hours generally fall between 8:00 am – 5:00 pm with occasional irregular hours depending on workload and holiday schedules.

Education: Must be a currently enrolled student working toward a degree. Business or Accounting Major, preferred.

Computer Skills: Basic working computer knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and 10-key.
