Supervisor, Regional Linehaul

Currently, we are looking for a Supervisor, Regional Linehaul to join the ABF team. The Supervisor, Regional Linehaul supervises time-efficient and cost-effective movement of loads within assigned area.

Your contribution may include:

  • Review and assess the conditions of the balanced, time-efficient movement, and projected empty miles for assigned area.
  • Gather data and information to formulate and implement an action plan based on available resources, drivers, tractors, and closed loads.
  • React to lane imbalance and adverse weather conditions, minimize cost, and conform to agreed customer requirements.
  • Plan, direct, and execute driver dispatches regarding lanes, specific loads, and weather conditions.
  • Direct linehaul activities for specific road drivers & road boards.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in a highly intense environment.
  • Work in a team setting to accomplish department goals.
  • Must be able to work any assigned shift, including holidays.
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.

As a Supervisor, Regional Linehaul, you will be a member of the ABF Linehaul Operations team in Fort Smith, AR. This position works four days on and four days off in twelve-hour shifts, from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.

Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferred.

Experience: Minimum, two years’ experience in transportation and/or freight industry, preferred.

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Certifications: Knowledge of ABF Freight network, distribution center, end of line lanes, relays, and contractual labor agreements, preferred. Ability to react effectively in critical situations. Must have a working knowledge of ABF’s Linehaul Operations Planning System. Must be able to work any assigned shift, including holidays.
