Manager, Line Operations


Position Description

Manage and coordinate the linehaul activities in respective domicile area, relays, and end of line movement. Manage administrative functions regarding exempt, non-exempt, and bargaining unit employees.

Job duties include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Perform area planning to ensure time efficient and cost-effective movement of loads, and daily inbound and outbound volume from all end of line stations
  • Manage resources to ensure cost-effective allocation of number of drivers and amount of equipment
  • Supervise drivers and supervisors
  • Ensure employees have tools and education to perform their job in accordance with location/company goals and direction
  • Maintain a positive attitude in a highly intense environment
  • Work in a team setting to accomplish department goals
  • Other duties, as assigned

  • Bachelor's degree, preferred
  • Five years' experience with freight/transportation industry, preferred
  • Knowledge of company goals and direction, DOT regulations, and labor contracts, preferred
  • Planning, decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Must be detail oriented and enjoy a fast paced, multi-tasking, customer service minded environment
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communications and organizational skills
  • Must display sense of urgency, ability to work under pressure, with attention to detail
