Operations Maintenance Specialist

Operations Maintenance Specialist ensures all service center operations work is performed according to approved company procedures, standards, and specification. This position supervises all activities of service center workers, and supports personnel engaged in loading and unloading activities.

General Description of Duties:

  • Maintain a 330 plus door facility, including the dock, office and grounds.
  • Perform welding and torch cutting, as needed.
  • Complete plumbing and electrical repair and maintenance.
  • Maintain lighting inside the office, on the dock and inside the yard.
  • Sweep dock floors.
  • Repair dock and asphalt surfaces.
  • Oversee the airline and air handling system and ensure in proper working order.
  • Coordinate waste management.
  • Repair various small equipment for the region.
  • Manage certification on fire extinguishers and ensure in proper working order.
  • Ensure all supplies are properly organized and stored in the appropriate location.
  • Conduct salting of all walkways and other areas during the winters month when needed.
  • Coordinate contract work for large jobs, as needed.
  • Provide a clean, safe working environment for all personnel and visiting customers.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in a highly intense environment.
  • Work in a team setting to accomplish department goals.
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.
  • Work hours will be 8:00AM - 5:00PM with occasional irregular hours depending on workload.


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferred. Experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Experience: Prior service center, transportation or other relevant field experience, preferred. Prior supervisory experience, preferred.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Certifications: State and local inspectors’ certifications.
  • Other Requirements: Ability to perform physical labor that includes lifting more than 50 lbs. daily.
