Currently, we are looking for a Linehaul Assistant, Part-Time, Casual to join the ABF Freight team. The Linehaul Assistant, Part-Time, Casual will assist the department and perform any combination of clerical duties.

Your contribution may include:

  • Type or enter information into computer to prepare correspondence.
  • Prepare, issue, and send out receipts, bills, policies, invoices, statements, and checks.
  • Open and route incoming mail, answer correspondence, and prepare outgoing mail.
  • Answer telephones, convey messages, and run errands.
  • Stamp or number forms by hand or machine, and photocopy documents.
  • Proofread records or forms, sort and file records, and index records and information.
  • Tabulate and post data in record books.
  • Transfer information from reports, code numerically, and post to prepared code sheet, ledger, or journal.
  • Compute wages, taxes, premiums, commissions, and payments.
  • Count, weigh, check, analyze, measure, and/or classify material.
  • Conduct limited research as requested.
  • Assist supervisors with various assignments including dispatching.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in a highly intense environment.
  • Work in a team setting to accomplish department goals.
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.

As a Linehaul Assistant, Part-Time, Casual, you will be a member of the ABF Freight Linehaul - Transportation Team. This is a part time position that will average fewer than 30 hours per week. Work hours for this position will be scheduled to support the 24/7 operation and may vary by location with irregular hours depending on workload.

Experience: Experience in transportation industry, preferred. Experience in operating various office machines, preferred.

Computer Skills: Basic understanding of Microsoft Office.
